Our School Aims

Alder Coppice Primary School aims to provide the best quality learning experience through which all children can achieve their full potential and enjoy a happy, caring yet challenging environment.

As a school we have the following aims for our pupils:

To equip children to become independent learners able to take a full and active part in all areas of life, and be valued contributors to society.

To have high expectations in order to challenge children of all abilities regardless of race and gender.

To be able to apply knowledge and skills to whatever situations they may meet.

To develop a respect and understanding for others alongside a positive self image and to begin to understand how our society works.

To develop positive, interactive partnerships with parents, other schools and the community as a whole.

To develop co-ordination, confidence and enjoyment through physical activity and have a good understanding of a healthy lifestyle.

To develop our children’s creative ability so that they can express themselves in as many different ways as possible – through speech, drama, creative writing, music and art.

To provide opportunities for imaginative and creative expression and appreciation.

To be a place where pupils can learn to respect themselves and each other, developing tolerance and an awareness of other cultures.

To develop a sense of awe and wonder

Pupils who are identified as having Special Educational Needs receive appropriate help through Individual Education Plans. This may be through differentiated work in the classroom, through support with their work, either individually or in a small group.

The schools has links with Dudley LEA to provide advice where necessary, such as through Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Learning Support Services and Educational Psychology.

If you have concerns about your child, please make an appointment to see a member of staff. Similarly, as our partnership with you, if a member of staff has particular concerns about a pupil, they will contact the parents.
