Welcome to Antrobus St Marks C E Primary School

Antrobus St. Mark's Primary School by Gordon Wilkinson

About us

Our school is situated in the small village of Antrobus, in Cheshire. The original school building dates back to 1844 but over recent years there have been a number of extensions and improvements. In 1997 two classrooms, a hall, kitchen, toilets and administrative offices were added.

  • This was followed in 2003 with the addition of a further new classroom to accommodate our early years class.
  • The mobile classroom on site is utilised by the Pre-School Nursery and as an additional teaching area by the school.
  • We are a Church of England Aided Primary School and enjoy close links with the Church of St Mark's, the local Methodist Chapel and the wider village community of Antrobus.

NURSERY FUN

Antrobus Pre-school Facilities
Pre-school facilities in Antrobus are organised and run by a business partnership who are committed to providing affordable education and care for young children. It is our intention that parents and their children will be able to make lasting friendships whilst the childrens educational, emotional and social needs are being met. Sounds a bit serious doesn’t it but it is really very rewarding and lots of fun. We offer facilities from birth until the children start school.

Mums and toddlers
This is an informal group where mums bring their children along and have the opportunity to chat over a cup of coffee, make new friends and let the children mix with other youngsters and play with different toys. The group is for babies and children under 2 years and meets in Antrobus Village Hall on Thursday mornings between 10.30 and 12 noon.

Playgroup
This is a more formal group which helps introduce the children to many new skills and encourages confidence and independence. It is specifically for 2-3 year olds and is supervised by staff from nursery. Parents must stay with their child until he / she is settled. These sessions are held on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Nursery
The children in nursery are introduced to the skills needed for learning and becoming an independent thoughtful and happy young person. We have a curriculum based on the Early Learning Goals for the foundation level of the national curriculum and each child is assessed and directed as necessary to ensure that they reach their full potential. Most of our input is through structured play and is thought provoking and fun. We welcome children from 3yrs old or through our playgroup. Fees are competitive and we are eligible to receive the government grants for all 3 and 4 year olds. These sessions are held every morning from 9a.m until 12.15 p.m. we also offer extended sessions each day until 1.30 p.m. or 3 p.m.

Call us on 01606 892323 for more information.
