Here at Appleton,we believe that the pupil is central to the whole curriculum. The starting point for the development of the whole curriculum is an understanding of the ways in which pupils learn. We believe in a curriculum entitlement for all pupils.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum which enables spiritual, moral, cultural, intellectual, aesthetic, social and physical development for life's opportunities, responsibilities and experiences.
We also believe that the curriculum should reflect breadth, by having a wide range of learning experiences that conform to the national curriculum requirments. That the curriculum should encompass all elements of the planned learning experience, in essence, be balanced. I t should be relevant to the pupils past and possible future experiences, whilst taking into account their needs. We also feel that the curriculum should ensure that each pupil's learning is developmental, in that it build on previous attainment.
