Arundale School
Lower Street, RH20 2BX Pulborough

Arundale's friendly and welcoming atmosphere is one in which all pupils thrive. Arundale is an Educational Trust, which was founded in 1953 and caters for girls and boys aged two to eleven years old. Since that time it has prided itself on providing the very best education for its pupils by giving them ample opportunity to develop their individuality and self-expression, through culture, the arts, sport and physical education, IT and music.

Whilst the school is non-denominational, children learn the value of caring and consideration for others, unselfishness, honesty and courtesy. Regular charity events are organised by the pupils and remembering other people's needs is often the theme of the class assemblies, to which parents are invited. Arundale maintains strong links with the local community, inviting the elderly to school events, and participating in joint ventures with local state and independent primary schools.

The school attaches very great importance to its reputation for giving pupils an excellent and thorough grounding in the basic subjects, treating each child as an individual. All pupils taking the 11+ Common Entrance or Schools' Examinations, achieve places to the schools of their choice.

At Arundale, school days are happy days, children are encouraged to try their best, persevere and succeed in an environment of high personal achievement. Arundale maintains close contact with parents, and staff are always available to discuss matters. There is also an interested and active Parents' Committee who meet regularly to ensure that communication between parent and teacher is maintained, and a pro-active Governing Body.

The school is a registered charity and is therefore non-profit making. Having no endowments, it must operate on its fee income. It is therefore not in a position to assist parents financially, except for a limited number of Assisted Places, a small reduction for siblings, and via a number of scholarships. New entrants to the school are required to pay a registration fee (non refundable) to reserve a place, followed by a refundable deposit to secure the place. The deposit will be returned when the child leaves Arundale.

School fees:
Listed per term and include lunch from Reception to Form VI.
Include most of the books and stationery required, but we encourage pupils to purchase their own atlases and dictionaries through school. Do not cover such items as uniforms, trips or external examination fees.

Discounts:
There is a £110 discount for siblings from Form I.

Note: Under no circumstances will the school remit any part of the fees because of absence, for any reason. Please see section "School Fees Insurance" for information about insurance covering absence resulting from illness.

Payment of Fees:
Fees may be paid by one of the following methods: By cheque, payable to "
Arundale School Trust Ltd" to be received by 4pm on the first day of each term. By Standing Order, arranged with the Administration Manager, to be paid in equal instalments as specified by the school
By Direct Debit, arranged with the School Administration Manager, to be debited in twelve equal instalments, commencing from the August before the start of the first term.

Note: If the School Office does not receive the fees by 4pm on the first day of each term a £100 surcharge will be levied.

Extra Subjects:
Each activity consists of 10 x 30 minute lessons per term. If a pupil wishes to stop taking an extra subject, the Headmistress must be informed, in writing, no later than the end of the first week of the proceeding term, in order that the bookings for visiting teachers can be cancelled. Failure to do so will incur payment for that term's fees.

Alteration to Fees:
Fees are reviewed annually and adjustments are normally made in April. The school will endeavour to give as much notice as possible of increases in fees, to parents/guardians. Please note that the figures provided on the website are correct at the time of publishing.
Arundale School, Pulborough, reserves the right to change the fees at any time. However, under normal circumstances, the fees are fixed for each academic year.

School Fees Insurance:
We advise parents to consider carefully the insurance that the school has arranged, which provides cover when sickness or an accident causes an absence from school. All pupils are included in the scheme(s), unless they inform the Administration Manager, in writing, that they do not wish to participate.

Personal Property:
The school does not accept responsibility for loss of, or damage to, the property of any pupil. Insurance cover for personal property should be arranged through your own insurance brokers.

Pupils' Personal Accident Insurance:
Holmwoods Insurance Services, please contact the school for further details.

Notice of Withdrawal:
The agreement for educating a pupil at Arundale may be terminated, without penalty, by giving a full term's notice, in writing to the Headmistress, i.e. before the beginning of the final term. In the absence of such notice, an amount equal to a full term's fees (including any extra subjects) must be paid. No portion of fees is repayable if circumstances warrant the removal of a pupil by instruction of
Governors.
