The Ashbeach School, Ramsey St Mary's is a Cambridgeshire County Council primary school for pupils aged between 5 and 11. The school serves the villages of Ramsey St Mary's, Ramsey Heights, Ramsey Mereside and part of Pondersbridge, although some parents from outside the designated catchment area do choose to send their children here. Buses provide free transport for children within the catchment area.
The school was founded in 1902, and was situated in the original Edwardian building until 1993. We moved into our present, purpose-built school in September 1993.
The school consists of four classroom in two open-plan units, a group room, large hall, community room, kitchen, central courtyard, reception area and administrative suite. We also have a learner swimming pool with changing rooms, a large playground and car park. The field has a football pitch, and an enclosed nature area, complete with pond in one corner.
A recent extension to our grounds enabled us to create Ashbeach common, which has been designed as an outdoor classroom.
