Baylis Court School is a Foundation school for girls from 11-18 which is located in the borough of Slough, Berkshire. We offer a dynamic and vibrant learning environment which enables each individual to reach their full academic potential.
The school is a model of a completely harmonious community. It has worked hard to raise the self-esteem of pupils and is succeeding in building their confidence as individuals. Pupils are achieving well because they are given every opportunity, support and encouragement to succeed.

Baylis Court School
Baylis Court School is a multi-cultural Foundation school for girls from 11 to 18 years of age. Post 16 education is delivered through the Herschel Consortium which comprises Herschel Grammar School, the Westgate School and Baylis Court School.

Admissions
Admissions policy for Baylis Court School
The policy for Baylis Court School is based on the criteria for admissions used by the Local Education Authority. The criteria are given below and are in descending order of priority.

Children who are Looked After by Slough Borough Council

Children who live in the designated area of the school (Slough)

Children who have either strong medical or social grounds for admission

Children who have older sisters at the school when the applicant would enter

Children of staff at the school

Children whose parents have selected for single sex or co-educational reasons

All other applicants
Facilities
Information and Communication Technology
Baylis Court School has two industry standard Information and Communications Technology (ICT) suites. In addition, there are also three specialist ICT rooms, 18 computers in the library, two trolleys of radio linked laptops and extensive networked computers and internet facilities available across the school. The Science and Mathematics departments also have a class set of wireless linked laptops. Pupils have access to stand-alone computers in other areas of the school.
Interactive Whiteboards
Over thirty of the classrooms at Baylis Court School have interactive whiteboards which provide an interactive portal to the outside world. We encourage pupils to use them in fun and imaginative ways during their lessons.
PA System in the Hall
The hall has a state of the art, industry standard sound and light system which helps to provide a professional touch to our Performing Arts productions.
Multi use PE courts
Our sports teams and individual pupils have been very successful in competitions against other schools and some pupils have had national and international success. Multi-use tennis, netball and basketball courts have been added to the PE facilities at Baylis Court school to enable our pupils to practice their skills in a superb environment.
New teaching block
A brand new extension to our teaching accomodation was added at the beginning of September 2006. The new teaching block includes four new classrooms and extensive changing facilities for PE.

An inclusive teaching environment
At Baylis Court School, we recognise that in order for pupils to learn effectively, they must be taught in an environment which not only challenges their ability but adds interest, inspires and enthuses them. A variety of learning and teaching strategies are used to ensure that every pupil's needs are met. Pupils are encouraged to work in a variety of ways and to foster and develop their creative thinking and independent skills necessary in today's working world.
