Underlying Core Purpose Every student is an individual with specific needs. Staff therefore need to know as much as possible about each student in order to provide the curriculum, teaching and support that they need to make progress.

Form Tutors move with their groups throughout the school years. • has a range of subject teachers who carefully monitor their personal, academic and social achievements. • is known by a Learning Coordinator, Pastoral Manager and by Directors of Learning who are available to both students and their parents. • is encouraged to take part in visits, trips, sports, drama, music and social events. • is given specialist advice when making important decisions such as Careers, Option Choices or thinking of Post 16 opportunities. • has additional support when it is needed in order that they make the best possible progress.

Welcome to our Sixth Form at Bridlington School Sports College where we provide a variety and wide range of courses that are suited to everyone's specific tastes and needs.

Our Sixth Form provides efficient and up-to-date facilities that help students with their studies and enables them to do research for their courses.

We also make sure that there is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in our Sixth Form, with good relations between students and teachers to achieve a successful and happy learning environment.

• ‘There is a good range of extra clubs and activities, particularly in sport and performing arts.’
• ‘Activities offered to pupils beyond the school day, such as sports activities and the CCF initiative, are good and enhance learning well.’

Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities leading to Community clubs and venues where possible. National Leadership programmes exist at every Key Stage, allowing students to take responsibility for their own learning and organisation and activities for others, including the Primary Schools.

The school offers recreational, inter tutor and competitive opportunities up to a National level. There are mentoring schemes for more able performers. Sports activities include Trampolining, Gymnastics, Sailing, Climbing, all forms of team games, racket sports and Athletics.

Post 16 and Key Stage 4 students are encouraged to take additional National Governing Body Awards and the Community Sports Leader Award.

Other extra curricular activities include Dance, Maths, ICT, Homework club, Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, Connexions Careers, Art, Engineering, Science, English, Modern Foreign Languages, School Productions, Design and Technology. Activities are well attended and new programmes are introduced every term.

White polo shirt with school badge. Low heeled, plain black shoes (not training shoes). A sensible outdoor coat.

GENERAL Students are not allowed to wear jewellery, but one 'stud' per ear is acceptable for those with pierced ears. Clothing should be clearly marked with the student's name. Hair should be clean and well kept, extreme styles are not acceptable.

Year 12/13 Sixth Form students are role models for younger students and their standard of dress and their conduct should reflect the high status of their position. It is expected that Sixth Formers will dress in a responsible manner, appropriate for an educational establishment. Bare midriffs and brief skirts would be considered inappropriate. Clothing and footwear should be safe, sensible and practical and jewellery should be worn discreetly. Outlandish or offensive clothing or jewellery is not acceptable. The Sixth Form have chosen to wear a black top embroidered with the school's sports college logo.
