Welcome to Broad Hinton Church of England Primary School!
‘Providing a quality education for a lifetime of opportunities’
Here at Broad Hinton School, we are proud of our educational heritage and the fact that generations of children have left the school with a love of learning, well prepared for Secondary School and adult life.
As a school we value both academic and personal success and aim to provide our pupils with the learning experiences, care and support they need to achieve this. We encourage pupils to develop as creative, innovative and responsible individuals within a learning community that values the input of the pupils themselves as well as parents, Governors, the Church and the wider Community .
The school has excellent facilities as a result of the recent major building programme and prides itself on its ability to offer a rich and diverse curriculum, with extensive extra-curricular opportunities.
You are warmly invited to make an appointment to visit our school – We look forward to welcoming you!!

The school was founded in 1743 by Thomas Benet of Salthrop to ‘teach and instruct such and so many poor children born and living within the Parish of Broad Hinton as they in their discretion shall think meet in Reading, Writing and Accounting or the lasting of Accounts’.
On 2nd June 1847 the school building was badly damaged by fire. Money was quickly raised for the re-building as the School Master’s house needed to be reinstated as high priority. In 1969 the Head Teacher ceased to live on the premises and so the house was made an integral part of the school. In 1975 the playing field was added to the grounds.
There have been a number of significant developments to the accommodation since them – the most recent projects resulting in a new ICT suite, new classroom, staffroom, toilets (including disabled facilities), kitchen, conservatory and school hall.
