Brook Field opened in 1987 to cater for the growing number of primary school children moving to the new houses in Shaw, Nine Elms and Peatmoor. We are situated on the edge of the Western development adjacent to a green belt area and the large expanse of Lydiard Park Estate. The majority of housing with the catchment area is owner/occupier.

We have two purpose built buildings with fourteen classrooms. The accommodation comprises of two halls, with seven (two class) teaching units, each having a “quiet” room and an adjacent practical area. There are also library areas, an ICT suite, a school kitchen and the usual offices. The class bases allow a flexibility of teaching styles. We pride ourselves in being an open school welcoming the involvement of children, staff, parents and governors in all aspects of school life.

Swindon is centrally located with London only being 1 ½ hours away and access to Wales, the Midlands and South West is convenient as the school is situated very near to Junction 16 of the M4 motorway.

West Swindon is a development divided into a number of urban villages, each with its own shops and community facilities.

At the centre is a large district centre with a hypermarket and other shops, together with a leisure complex comprising of sports hall, swimming pool, ice rink etc. There is also a multi-screen cinema, restaurants, Super Bowl and Hotel opposite the district centre.

The town of Swindon is famous for the Great Western Railway works, which has today been brought alive at the award-winning museum STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway. Swindon is also enriched with Victorian parks and gardens, areas of extended woodlands, museums, galleries and centres of heritage.
