Welcome to Broomfields Junior School
About us
Broomfields Junior is a four-form entry school for children between the ages of 7 and 11. It is situated attractively on Bridge Lane in Appleton, an extremely pleasant area on the south side of Warrington. The school enjoys fine views across adjacent countryside.
Our school was opened in 1970 and is a bright, spacious and extremely well maintained building.
It comprises:
- of sixteen classrooms;
- a multimedia library,
- two resource bay areas,
- two spacious halls,
- administrative offices,
- medical room,
- staff room suite and catering centre.
One twin and three double super-mobile classrooms have been added over recent years to take account of the growing number of children on roll. Most recently, we have benefitted from a new purpose built building which is currently accommodating our four Year 6 classes. Outside are extremely spacious playing fields, playground, patio area and adjacent woodland.
We are proud of our liaison with the local community. Our choir and orchestra are regular visitors to St. Mary Magdalene's Church, Appleton, giving concerts to the elderly. Our year 4 children previously supporting the development of the Appleton Parish Trail, which celebrates 100 years of Appleton Parish Council.
