About BCUC
A great place to study and a great place to have fun and make friends. Above all, BCUC is a superb environment to gain the qualifications you need to succeed in the future.
Working in partnership with you
There’s a learning partnership at the heart of our work. We produce a Student Charter which makes clear not only what we expect from you, but also what you can expect from us. We try to foster a friendly, secure and caring environment and we make pledges about our service. By working together, there’s a greater chance of achieving our mutual goals.
No typical student
There is no such thing as a typical BCUC student. One of the best things about life here is the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds.
Students come in all shapes, sizes and ages. In fact, we pride ourselves on attracting a large population of mature students over 21. They may be people from industry or those who have raised families or are aiming for a new career direction. We find bringing a broader perspective on life and learning add considerably to the diversity of our campuses.
Disability Service
As part of our commitment to widening access and participation, we welcome applications from disabled people. Our team offers a wide range of continuing support, including study skills for people with dyslexia or special needs and assistance with application for Disabled Students' Allowances.

Business Connections
BCUC has a history of working closely with local businesses, using live briefs for student activities and fostering links with employers. Many of our courses offer excellent work placement opportunities. We’re also involved in applied research, contract research and consultancy – working alongside organisations in both the public and private sectors. 'Knowledge transfer’ activities often form the basis of MPhil and PhD courses, with full support provided by our Research Unit.
