Welcome to Bushbury Hill

Bushbury Hill Primary School

I am pleased to welcome you and your child to Bushbury Hill Primary School.

Every child is an important individual with experiences which we value.

As parents you have been providing opportunities for him or her to make sense of their world.

We look forward to teaching your child over the next six years and believe that this is the beginning of a partnership between home and school which we will build on. Your child needs to see that we are working together.

We have expectations so that your child will progress well in their learning. Achievements are celebrated and we seek to build up self confidence and self esteem.

We believe that children learn best when they are actively involved in challenging tasks in an environment where they feel secure. We encourage them to take care of the school and to behave with consideration to others so that they develop a sense of responsibility.

Mrs S Cheyne, Headteacher.

Our School

Bushbury Hill Gallery

Here is a selection of images from around our school. We hope that you enjoy looking at them. For images from individual year groups, visit the classes section.

Playtime is exciting at Bushbury Hill Primary School. Outdoor toys are provided and children are encouraged to have ‘Fun with friends’. These children in Key Stage One are enjoying the school climbing frame:

If you don’t know who to play with, you can sit down on the bench and ‘stop for a friend’. Then other children will come and ask you to play with them:

On entry to school, children and staff are allocated membership to one of the four tree houses - Oak, Elm, Sycamore or Horse- chestnut. Members are given a coloured wristband to wear in school and a display in the school hall shows membership of each house:

Children are able to receive merits from staff and visitors to the school as a reward for following the school rules, achievement, improvement etc. A chart to record these house points is in each classroom. At the end of each week merit points are recorded in the merit book and are celebrated in merit assembly. The house with the most merit points each week has it’s coloured ribbon tied onto the cup which is displayed in the hall.

Classes

The children are very busy at Bushbury Hill Primary School and in the class pages you can view a selection of work/activities chosen by the children in each year group.

The children update their page each term to reflect their current topic. There is a lot going on so feel free to browse!
