Welcome to
Cannon Park Primary School
Welcome to our website, we hope to be able to give you a flavour of what we do.
Cannon Park is a small school with approximately 210 children maximum. We are a strong, caring community with a warm and friendly atmosphere. We aim to provide an environment which will enable our children to develop all of their abilities; whether academic, physical, aesthetic, social, moral or spiritual to help our children achieve their full potential.
We have 2 phases;
- Foundation Stage with Key Stage 1 which includes Reception class and Years 1 & 2.
- Key Stage 2 which includes Years 3, 4, 5, & 6.
We have remodelled our open plan school which was built in 1968 into a school with large airy, separate classrooms and have had extensive work done over the last few years to ensure our school can function well with the many needs of the National Curriculum.
We have an excellent, dedicated team who are very caring and committed to providing the very best education for our children. We have developed a broad, balanced and creative curriculum. Staff have high expectations of all pupils and the children are encouraged to work to the fullest extent of their capabilities in all aspects of the curriculum.
Cannon Park is proud of its extra curricular activities which cater for a wide a set of interests. We have opportunities for children to learn musical instruments and also offer a wide range of sporting activities. We always welcome suggestions for activities which children would enjoy before or after school. We do have a ‘before’ and ‘after’ school club run by St Thomas’ and they are open from 8am and for 2 ½ hours after School finishes.
We send out a weekly newsletter providing up to date information for parents and others; this can be found on this website, along with all other recent letters.
The school works in partnership with families; parents are encouraged to take an active role in school. We welcome volunteer helpers to support the work of the School once they have had their CRB clearance.
Parents and friends of the community are invited to share family assemblies and school performances.
The School and its Governors are committed to an inclusive School and curriculum, ensuring the needs of all children are met. We encourage a healthy lifestyle with healthy eating and exercise as part of the children’s School life. We put an emphasis on providing opportunities for personal and social development. We hope to build self esteem, encourage self discipline and self motivation.
