Welcome to St James and St John Church of England School

St James and St John Church of England (Voluntary Controlled) School is a Primary School admitting children from 4+ to 11 years of age. Previously, both Chackmore and St James were 'First Schools'. With effect from September 2006, the two schools became the new school of St James and St John C of E Primary School.

At both sites, the school buildings are set in attractive rural surroundings on the northern outskirts of Buckingham.

St James & St John Primary School aims to give all children the opportunity to develop learning skills, knowledge and understanding to allow them to fulfil their potential. The children are encouraged to be self-motivated and strive for high personal goals.
It is our aim that parents are involved in the education process and play a positive role in the children's learning. We therefore welcome parents into the life of the school.

Our family community at St James & St John Primary School enables us to ensure that children's initial school experience is both rewarding and enjoyable.
In the OFSTED Inspection of Sept 2002, St James School was decribed as "a good school with an atmosphere of security and harmony providing a strong foundation for learning. The Teaching was recognised as "very good".

In the OFSTED Inspection of Oct 2005, Chackmore School was described as "Outstanding", with a good track record of high standards underpinned by outstanding care and excellent provision for the pupils' all round development. The teaching includes "outstanding practice".
The school's Behaviour Policy can be downloaded from the link below, which provides further information on the standards we expect within our school.
Following our extremely successful Ofsted Report we were inspected by the Church Diocese on 15 November 2005.

School Newsletters and Parents, Teachers and Friends Association News
St James and St John School has one Parents, Teachers and Friends Association covering both sites

We organise several events throughout the year including our Summer fayre, Christmas Bazaar, Barn Dance, Sponsored Skills Day, etc. All profits made at these events go to school projects.

All parents are welcome to attend these functions and to join the PTFA .

The majority of the fundraising for the year was spent on the refurbishment of our new library, curtains for the school hall, musical instruments, coaches for external trips, childrens' Christmas parties and visits by specialist dance groups.

This year will be the first time our school will have a Year 6 starting in September 2007, the PFTA have agreed to help equip the school with essential resources ready for this exciting time.
The next meeting of the PTFA will be the AGM which is to be held at the Chackmore site at 7.30 pm on Thursday, 27th September, 2007.
The School has a good relationship with the PTFA and it is through this continued commitment from the parents and staff to raise funds that we are able to provide extras for our children.

The Parents' Association also organise social events for parents and children as well as fundraising events for school equipment and other projects.
At the begining of each half term each family is sent a school newsletter from the Headteacher informing parents of forthcoming events and information relevent for the term.
