The Clyst Heath Nursery and Community Primary School

We would like to offer a very warm welcome to the Clyst Heath Nursery and Community Primary School website.

This website is designed to give you the most up to date information that we have about our school including its opportunities and aspirations for your child.  Developments are taking place almost on a daily basis and we would like to keep you as informed as we possibly can.  Likewise, we will also be providing you with an opportunity to contact us by way of our ‘Contributions and Feedback’ page.

Our aim is to give you a useful insight into the type of school we will be developing at Clyst Heath, its aims, its staff, its curriculum, its organisation and activities.

We offer a committed and talented team of staff who are focussed on delivering a curriculum through high quality teaching, which is rich and diverse for all children in our care.  We want to be proud of the achievements of our children and to identify success in academic, social, cultural, physical and spiritual learning as they extend their knowledge and skills.

We firmly believe that an effective partnership between home and school is vital and communications between us should be open, honest and friendly in order that positive experiences may be gained.

We hope that you will take time to visit this site often in order to keep up to date with the positive progress and begin to experience for yourself the care and learning that will take place at Clyst Heath Nursery and Community Primary School.

Further information about the school can be found by clicking here.

School Aims and Values

A school that considers the child first and is founded on shared responsibility and community involvement

A school that promotes a love of learning, sets high standards and encourages each individual to achieve their full potential

A school that promotes diversity and respects the needs of the individual

A school that recognises and celebrates success

A school where learning takes place in a safe, secure, stimulating and happy environment

We believe that your child is unique. Children learn at their own pace, react and develop in different ways and will remain their own selves.

Scool Council

We are 8 pupils from across the school who represent all the children in Clyst Heath.  We were elected in September 2006 and have regular meetings every term to discuss fundraising and school issues.  So far this year, we have focused on fundraising for Sitha and the British Heart Foundation but we have also worked hard to create Clyst Heath's first School Council web page.

In 2007, we hope to do more fundraising and help make any necessary improvements to our school.
