The Coleshill Village School

Coleshill CE. Infant School was founded in 1847. The old Victorian buildings have been joined and extended over the years, so that now we have two classrooms, a hall, an ICT area and a kitchen. There is a large playground and an attractive garden for use at playtimes in good weather and for our studies all the year round.

Coleshill prides itself on having a happy and hard working environment for your child to start his/her early years of schooling and fulfil his/her potential. To achieve our aims the school has to be a partnership between pupils, parents, governors and staff. Coleshill has close links with the Church and local community. Parental involvement is encouraged and there is a supportive Parents’ and Friends’ Group. Visitors are always welcome and the Headteacher will be pleased to talk to you and show you the school. Please telephone or write to arrange an appointment.

Our new Headteacher (Mrs. Jenny Earp)

Jenny made the short move from curzon C. of E. Combined School, Penn Street, to join us at the beginning of September. She brings with her a wealth of experience from her previous teaching posts. Despite the demands of juggling family life with a very busy headteacher's existence, Jenny has settled in very well and looks forward to leading the School into the 21st Century.

Anthony: We have a new headteacher, her name is Mrs. Earp. Mrs. Earp is very kind.

Hannah: We have a new headteacher called Mrs. Earp, she is very smiley. She makes Us work hard.

Official opening of the Computer Room

On Friday 12th November Cheryl Gillan, M.P. for Chesham and Amersham, visited the School to officially open our new Computer Room. Although Mrs Gillan was only in the School for a brief visit the children found time to entrain her to some singing before the official snipping of the ribbon. The Children were able to demonstrate their abilities on the computers to Mrs Gillan who then left, promising to correspond to the children by E-Mail.

"Our New Computer Room by Elliot. We have a new computer room. It has some colourful new curtains, they are red, blue and yellow. It used to be a cloakroom, where the coats were, but over the holidays it turned into a computer room. It has four computers."

Coleshill School Badge

Green for countryside
Yellow for sunshine
A shield for protection
A star for truth and knowledge
A star for gentleness and kindness
A star for courage and bravery
Oak Leaves
The leaves are for Waller’s Oak.
Edmund Waller, the poet, wrote some of his poems as he sat in the oak tree in the garden of Stock Place, where he was born in 1606.
An oak tree is strong, useful, longlasting and beautiful.
