Welcome to our School!

Our small school was established in 1857 on the edge of Dartmoor, near Ivybridge. We teach children through the full primary age phase, from 5-11 and 'Rookies Pre-School' is now on site in their new building.

  • To offer every child a broad, balanced curriculum encompassing curricular and extra curricular activities.
  • To create a happy, stimulating environment where children and adults feel valued.
  • To maintain strong links with our local Church and the Diocesan Body.
  • To monitor evaluate and develop the life of the school.
  • To encourage our children to develop a Christian ethos and respect the religious, spiritual and moral values of others.
  • For staff, Governors, parents and children to maintain consistently high standards and expectations of teaching, learning and behaviour.
  • To encourage our children to consider thoughtfully, their own beliefs, values and attitudes and the influence that has on others and their school environment.
  • To encourage our children to become independent self disciplined and understand that courtesy, good manners and a caring attitude are important qualities.
  • To promote positive teamwork and partnership between the staff, children, parents, Governors, the local community and outside agencies.
  • To provide our children with as many opportunities as possible to experience physical, artistic, intellectual and emotional stimuli to enable them to achieve their full potential.
