COTTESBROOKE HOME / SCHOOL LEARNING PACT
At Cottesbrooke Infant School we believe that children will make the best progress if we the teachers and you the parents can work closely together in an atmosphere of trust and respect for one another.
You as parents are the first 'educators' of your child and indeed children will have learned more in the first years of their lives than they ever will again. You will have taken them from being helpless new born babies to walking, talking, thinking, reasoning and reasonable people. All this they have learned from you.
Now that your child has started full-time education, you are passing some of the responsibility for their learning to us. We use our specialist skills and knowledge to teach not only all areas of the National Curriculum but help your child to develop and grow in all the areas of social and moral learning. Together we hopefully prepare them to become good citizens, happy and successful people.
If your child is to make the most of their time at school then there must be responsibilities on both sides. We will make commitments to you and your child and in return we ask that you accept certain responsibilities as caring parents and enter into a pact with us on that basis. This way we hope that you will have a clear understanding of what to expect from us and what we in return expect from you.
We therefore ask you to sign two copies of this pact, one of which you keep and one of which forms part of your child's record of achievement at this school.
