SCHOOL MEALS
A cafeteria service is in operation and a wide variety of meals are available which are freshly prepared in our own school kitchen. As a school we promote healthy eating and you can be assured you child will receive a healthy and nutritious meal.
If your child pays for school dinners please make sure meals are paid for either on a weekly or monthly basis (on the first day of the school week) and handed in to the school kitchen. If a payment is made by cheque please include your child's name and class on the reverse of the cheque andstate whether payment is for dinner only or dinner and drink.
The cost of a dinner is £1.60 (£8.00 for a weeks' meals) and a fresh fruit juice is 16p. The cost for a week's meals with drinks is therefore £8.75.
A Milk Bar is also now available for children having school dinners. Your child can purchase banana, strawberry or chocolate milkshakes for 15p each or plain milk for 10p.
As a Health Promoting School, Cotwall End does not allow unhealthy snacks such as chocolate or crisps to be brought into school for break times. Therefore, KS2 children are able to purchase bags of fruit at breaktime and apple or orange juice at 15p or milk at 10p. KS1 children receive a piece of fruit at morning break time.
As you are aware, each year we issue your child with a copy of homework activities booklets which provide a resource for you to work with your child at home. This supports their learning in school and enables you to 'dip in' at your convenience.
