I am very proud of our school and whether you are a first time visitor, a parent or a student I hope that the variety of information here will help you to learn about our school. We are an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school that is Committed To Achievement. Our goal is to help our students reach the highest standards of personal achievement. We aim to achieve this by working with students and their families to support and recognise success, in whatever form this takes.
In our recent Ofsted inspection HMI noted many positive elements to the school and that we had improved significantly since our last inspection.
-
‘(Pupils) enjoy school and show this through their good behaviour, respect for each other, and improved attendance and punctuality’.
-
‘The curriculum is good and meets the needs of students well’
-
‘A real strength of the school is its inclusive ethos and strong community links.’
-
‘Students feel safe and enjoy school’
-
‘Warm working relationships are reflected in the positive learning environment throughout the school’. |

ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
BE ON TIME School starts at 8.40 am and you are expected to be in registration at this time. Always make sure you are at the right classroom at the start of each lesson
SIGNING IN AND OUT If you arrive after registration, report to the school office to sign in. If you need to leave school for an appointment, you must sign out at the school office. You will need a note from home signed by your tutor.
ABSENCE & ILLNESS If you are unwell and unable to attend school, a telephone call before 9.30 am on the first day is required. If the absence extends to several days, please let us know when you are going to return to school. We do require a written explanation for the absence. Pupil absence forms are available from tutors and you will be asked to take one home for completion if we have not received a reason for absence. This should be returned to our Attendance Officer.
If you feel unwell or have an accident, tell a teacher. You will normally be sent to the Lower School Office where a First Aider will help you
Your parents will be contacted should you need to leave school.
