Introduction

Darul Uloom London was established in 1988 as an independent community based residential faith school for boys offering full tuition in Islamic studies and National Curriculum subjects to (covering) GCSE and A-level(s) standard. The Islamic studies are extended to higher levels. The school (It) is situated in Chislehurst, Kent, and is set on an attractive site of woodland and greenery. The school is easily accessed from London by the major road networks. The premises comprise modern residential facilities and a new purpose-built school to provide state-of-the-art facilities.

Aims & Principles

The principal purpose and activity of the school is the education of children in accordance with Islamic principles based on the Holy Quran and Sunnah (the teachings of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him).  All of the schools activities, not just the classroom curriculum or teaching method, are run in accordance with Islamic principles.  The objective is to produce Muslim scholars who are upstanding and responsible citizens.

The institution helps students to explore and develop their Islamic identity as part of their social, moral and personal development. Central to these principles is that the school is run in a way that engages parents, teachers, administrators, eminent scholars and students as a single community working to help (so that they work together in helping) the school achieve its objectives. Therefore, parents and guardians are expected to demonstrate their commitment to the education process by taking on responsibility for the whole school community and using their skills and aptitudes in ways that contribute to the school in practical ways.

Educational Curriculum

The school provides higher Islamic education and training to degree level standard with a sound academic secular education in accordance with the National Curriculum.

Boarding Facilities

The school has a purpose built hostel which offers modern accommodation facilities for all of the schools students.  Each room is shared by two boys.

Fees and Donations:

The Annual Fee at Darul Uloom is £300 plus a suggested voluntary donation of £1,500 per annum.  There is a one-time 100 admission fee.  All fees are payable in advance.  The fees, contributions and donations are non-refundable. If a student leaves Darul Uloom for whatever reason or is expelled or excluded, all fees and donations for the remainder of the academic year will be retained by the school.

Additional information:

Health: The institution has its own G.P. who visits once a week for medical check ups as required.
