Key Stage Two Building |
Key Stage One Building |
The school is one of four primary schools in the town with a current roll of 303 pupils. It was originally opened as two separate schools; a Junior School and an Infants School in two individual buildings, but was amalgamated to form the present unit in 1989.
The two school buildings, built in 1971, are semi open-plan in design. The larger building has 8 home bases, the small building has 6, with shared practical areas of generous dimensions and associated entrance, cloakroom and toilets. The kitchens are designed for full food preparation. The halls are generous in size with PE stores and fixed apparatus, and are within easy access of the teaching bases.
The external teaching areas are planned to allow for environmental studies, games and recreation. The grounds are landscaped and include garages and sheds to store gardening and outdoor PE equipment. We have planted a small orchard of Yorkshire apple trees. We have a wildlife area which includes a pond, and have begun another project to further develop our school environment.
