A Foundation School:
Denbigh School is a mixed 11 – 19 Specialist School providing quality secondary education for students on the West Flank of Milton Keynes.
The School has 1451* students and 176 staff. Denbigh School is a foundation school which means that it is self governing, has control of its own budget and employs its own staff.
A Specialist School:
Denbigh is a Specialist School.
It has Technology College status and as such provides a mathematical, scientific and technological curriculum which goes beyond the National Curriculum.
The School aims to provide an education which:
- develops an education culture that promotes and enables the use of new technology in enhancing learning and processing information to empower all students to greater attainment
- contributes to the economic growth of Milton Keynes through the development of Mathematics, Science and Technology beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum, and in line with the needs of the Milton Keynes business community;
- provides a learning experience which encourages young people to feel competent and confident about entering the world of work and enthusiastic as to the opportunities for employment and life-long learning available in Milton Keynes.
a Thriving Sixth Form:
Denbigh School offers students the opportunity of joining a thriving Sixth Form of over 400 students, which combines the very highest of academic standards with a wide range of social and sporting activities.
Sportsmark Award:
Denbigh School continues to be recognised by Sport England through the National Sportsmark Award Scheme as having an excellent programme of Physical Education and school sport.

Denbigh School is recognised as a Healthy School under the National Healthy Schools Programme and is committed to having a healthy school environment for both students and staff.
We are a school with a Healthy Schools National Status Award.
Youthbridge Scheme:
Denbigh is one of 13 schools nationally to join the Youthbridge Scheme. This is a British – German Association Programme to promote German learning in British schools

The School is committed to using the opportunities afforded by specialist technology status to raise the attainment of all students at the School.
During the 10 years of specialist status the School has enhanced its Information and Communication Technology facilities to include 9 computer rooms, 60 workstations in the Independent Learning Centre and a dedicated Sixth Form Study Area comprising 28 workstations.
Computer technology supports the teaching and learning of every student in subjects across the curriculum, from students using the Apple Mac suite in Graphics to Music students who have a state of the art Music Technology Recording and Editing suite at their disposal.
The School’s 365 desk top computers and 150 laptop computers allow students to process information relating to their studies and have high speed access to educational material and the Internet.
The School’s ratio of one computer to every three students is considerably higher than the national average.

Denbigh is committed to providing an appropriate education for students of all abilities, helping each student to maximise their chances of success:
Provision for more able students:
We make provision for able students by:
- Accelerating and extending their study of Mathematics;
- Giving opportunities for them to study separate Sciences - Physics, Chemistry and Biology at GCSE;
- Giving opportunities for them to extend Integrated Humanities to include Geography or History;
- Events to support the Gifted and Talented.
A broad balanced education for those that make progress at the national expectation.
Each student completing their Year 11 last year has, on average achieved the equivalent of 8 GCSEs at Grade A.
The majority of students go on to join the Sixth Form where they study a programme to include up to five A Levels.
Working with the Local Community
Denbigh School is committed to maintaining close links with the local community.
The School participates in a two way process, drawing on the knowledge and expertise of the local community to equip students with the skills, confidence and creativity that today’s workplace demands and, in return, using the expertise and facilities in the School to support the local community.
Managers of local companies support the School’s careers education programme - giving practical advice on university entry, advice on interview technique, access to modern apprenticeships and an explanation of the manager's role in the work force.
Local companies also participate in the Year 10 work experience programme.
Denbigh supports its local community by:
- providing a children’s university for pupils in partner schools;
- providing technical support for teachers in partner schools;
- providing IT training for teaching and associate staff at Denbigh;
- providing leisure facilities through Shenley Leisure Centre;
- accommodating continuing adult education through Shenley Adult Education Centre and the Open University
