Dover Grammar School for Boys was founded in 1905 and has been on its current site overlooking the Castle and the Channel since 1932. Its unique buildings form part of the landscape of Dover and we are proud of our history. But we are a forward looking school committed to preparing our students for the 21st century, so you will see plenty of technology and modern facilities within the building. We are a Business and Enterprise College with good links with our primary schools and local businesses. We are here to provide a high quality education for our students and to contribute to our local community.

At Dover Grammar School for Boys, we aim to provide a happy and well-ordered community in which boys are helped to grow into courteous and responsible young men who leave the School having achieved their best, well equipped for higher education and employment, and ready to contribute to their community. We are a school with a proud history and a bright future. Our striking buildings positioned on the hill with a commanding view of the town and the harbour, remind us that we have the benefit of strong traditions and, at the same time, we are forward-looking and committed to preparing our students for 21st century life. We are a specialist Business Enterprise College. We provide enterprise opportunities for all our students to help them develop into creative learners with the ability to "make things happen". We place a strong emphasis on personal integrity and consideration for others and on the development of spiritual and moral values. We have high aspirations for our students in terms of their academic achievement. The expectation is that they will achieve high grades in their GCSE examinations, and that most will go on into the Sixth Form and through higher education into leadership roles in commerce, industry and the professions. Others may seek alternative routes into employment, but in every case they will receive the advice and support they need to plan their futures effectively. Our students' experience extends well beyond their academic achievements alone. We encourage our students to be successful in whatever field they choose and we offer them a wide variety of opportunities to contribute to extra-curricular activities, to extend their experience, and to develop their leadership skills. We have strong traditions in sport and music, but the available opportunities extend much more widely. There are many opportunities for students to contribute to the school community for the benefit of all.
