I am delighted that you are considering sending your child to Emmbrook Junior School . As a staff, we are very proud of all that our school has to offer to children in our care.
The staff make every effort to deliver a broad , balanced curriculum by providing learning opportunities which encourage the children and allow them to apply their knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics across the curriculum, as in ICT , wherever appropriate.
Children are encouraged to develop their potential academically, physically, personally and socially. Each child is helped to attain their personal goals through recognition of achievement, and is helped to set targets, which will improve skills and knowledge.
The curriculum is enriched by the provision of many extra-curricular activities. Children learn best in a supportive environment, which recognises effort and achievement. We believe that strong home-school links are important to provide each child with the correct conditions for learning. Thus the school aims to work closely with parents and we are delighted so many have signed up to our Home School Agreement. Parents are strongly encouraged to help children with homework.
It goes without saying that we have high expectations regarding good behaviour and it is expected that parents support us in that aim.
The children are encouraged to wear our school uniform with pride – even the tie! Full details of the uniform can be found further on in this brochure.
Parents who are able to participate in school life are a valuable means of support e.g. in helping children read, helping in lessons such as design technology or indeed in lending a hand to current school initiatives.
I look forward to working with you for the benefit of your child
Yours sincerely,
Dalene Robertson
