'Shine a light on... Hard Work , Fair Play - Fairlight'

Praise and Reward:

Although we always  hope that children work hard and enjoy school for its own sake, we are very aware of the important role that Rewards  make in celebrating success.

At Fairlight we have several ways in which success is celebrated.

'Thumbs-Up!' - these are little vouchers given to children by any member of staff who identify extra effort / kindness or helpfulness.  These were originally known as 'Wombats' after an Australian connection to the school, however they have recently been renamed.  these vouchers are entered into a Friday draw where a small token can be won.  The more you have, the higher your chance of success.

'Friday Assembly' - children demonstrating good achievement come to Friday Assembly where their good work / good behaviour is praised.  A photo of the child is displayed for the next week in honour of their achievement.

'Best Class' - A shield is presented in Friday assembly to the class that has demonstrated high levels of co-operation / helpfulness during the past week.

'Achievement Awards' - at the end of each half term, Achievement Awards are presented to children who have demonstrated particular progress during the previous weeks.  Parents are invited into school for this assembly and a photographic record made.

'Best Attendance' - at the end of each half-term the class with the best attendance is rewarded with a 'fun afternoon'.
