Glebe Middle School admits children from 8-12 years. Admissions are regulated by the Local Education Authority, normally according to catchment area. However, parents are at liberty to express a preference for any school, and we would encourage you to make an appointment to visit us. You will be made most welcome.
The County's Admissions Policy is outlined in a booklet "Transfer to a Junior or Middle School", which is published by the Authority. Both the leaflet and application forms are available from the Area Education Officer at Centenary House, Durrington Lane, Worthing, BN13 2QB, or by telephoning (01903) 839141.
Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions that parents make. We believe that choice should be based on your first hand experience and knowledge. We therefore encourage you to visit us. You will be made most welcome! ANNUAL ARRANGEMENTS:
Pupils are admitted to Glebe Middle School in the September following their eighth birthday. An Open Evening is held in the preceding Autumn Term to provide a general insight into the workings of the School. Finer organisational details and class placements are confirmed at a special meeting for the new intake held in the summer term.
Parents who miss the opportunity to attend these meetings, or who wish to discuss individual needs, are encouraged to telephone the School to arrange a visit. We welcome personal contact with parents. Seeing our School in action and taking the opportunity to discuss areas of concern will help you to make the right choice for your child.
Children of parents moving into the area during the course of the academic year are more than welcome to visit the School in the first instance. Prospectuses are available on request. Formal application for admission will then take place via the Education Office, as above. EDUCATION AREA:
