Headteacher: Mrs. J. Adamson
At Griffin Primary School we hope to create a warm and friendly atmosphere, in a safe and secure environment, with well defined boundaries. By working together, with a team spirit we hope everyone feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Griffin Primary School has received the Investors in People accreditation. We are committed to continuing this process and believe that all staff, governors and others connected to the school should be invited to take part in training to meet the school objectives.
Griffin Primary School is housed in a building which opened in April 1993. The school has a semi open plan arrangement where three teaching bays have a shared activity area running alongside. There is a multi-purpose hall, a library and music room. The school is well resourced with spacious grounds. We can accommodate 350 pupils in the main school shared between 10 classrooms and an early years area. There is also a Nursery Unit on the site. The school is situated in an urban area on the east side of the city of Hull.
During the last inspection the school was complimented on its ethos and high standards achieved in the foundation subjects. Since our last inspection we have been able to concentrate our minds and energies on the raising of achievement in all subjects and in particular Numeracy and Literacy.
During 2003 a new building was built which houses an ICT suite and a classroom. Also we have had a new extension added onto the nursery which joins the main school.
Our aim is to create an exciting and caring atmosphere, where each child feels confident, secure and valued as an individual. We do not tolerate acts of bullying and we strive to make children feel as safe as possible within our school environment.
Teachers and pupils belong to a phase team. 1. The Foundation Stage - Nursery and Reception 2. Years 1 and 2. 3. Years 3 and 4. 4. Years 5 and 6
Each phase has a team leader.
We expect everyone in school to work together, respecting each others views and opinions. In this way everyone will enjoy working at Griffin Primary School and will make the most of every opportunity given to them.
Our school does have a behaviour charter which we ask everyone to support. In this way we hope to provide the best possible education for our pupils.
Our school session times are:
Morning 8.50a.m. - 12 noon Afternoon 1.00p.m. - 3.15p.m.
