NURSERY

At GGSK Nursery, we acknowledge that the Early Years is the most essential time for an individual to get ready to face the challenges of Life. We provide a safe and sound environment for the smooth transition from home to school.

Our highly qualified staff are always ready to accept our toddlers from all social and cultural backgrounds and use the latest technology and research at their disposal to develop their early learning skills.

Physical development at our stage of the education process is all about improving coordination, control, manipulation skills and movement. We regularly use indoor and outdoor equipment and activities and select the language we use carefully, when inviting the children to move their bodies.(eg; prepositions, movement verbs) The children have lots of opportunities to practise balancing on our beams and other equipment in their private, enclosed play area.

We place a major emphasis on encouraging individuals to speak to the group, and on listening to one another's verbal contributions. We introduce the children to the concept of "giving to others" who are less fortunate than themselves, through Harvest assemblies and these fundraising events for charity.

As part of their early reading experiences, we use 'phonic', 'look and say' and 'real books' as well as the 'shared reading experience'. We also use the widely acclaimed, multi-sensory approach to teaching all the sounds in our alphabet called 'Jolly Phonics'. Each session, the children are involved in a story and literacy time is a daily feature.

Three times a week , we provide a qualified drama and speech teacher who directs courses for the London Academy of Music and Dance course  in Creative Dance and Movement courses along with Poetry Recitals which concentrate on the children's speech and language to help identify any particular difficulties in a child's language development. This is just one of the "extras" GGSK Nursery offers its families.

Our Primary School focuses more on value-added, apart from meeting the objectives laid down by the National Curriculum. As per our policy, we lay emphasis on full personality development from a very tender age. This is what makes our school unique in giving the right knowledge, skills and values to prepare the young learners  to face the challenging secondary education with greater confidence.

A happy Primary student getting some coloured pencils for the fun morning activity shows how learning is enjoyable at GGSK Primary. All our Primary classes are small - averaging around 10-12 pupils per class - giving more opportunities to the teachers to pay more individual attention that is essential for the full individual personality development. We  follow the National Curriculum throughout the Primary Years, with students sitting their KS1 and KS2 SATS exams in English, Maths and Science at the College.

GGSKC’s School Curriculum

At GGSK College, we follow the National Curriculum, but we lay emphasis on the full personality development of the individual learner through a vast range of subjects and extra-curricular activities. By doing this in small classes, we try to prepare our learners to fully integrate the world of work as real and healthy professionals.

FLEXIBLE APPROACH

Our current Year 8 and Year 9 classes are already studying G.C.S.E. standard work in their Mathematics, English and Science lessons.

Everyone capable will start their GCSE coursework in Year 8 so that they complete numerous subjects one year early in Year 10 which enables many students to finish Year 11 with up to 15 GCSEs or equivalent.

Primary children will also learn a Modern European Language, from Spanish, French, or German, alongside the Language usually spoken at home
( eg.Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati and Tamil.) These can be learned all the way through to A Level standard as part of the curriculum.

At G.G.S.K. College, our children are monitored and assessed every three weeks to evaluate progress. Close contact is maintained with parents to ensure the child is aiming towards the high standards we set for them.

G.G.S.K. College strictly adheres to the National Curriculum, from Nursery and Key Stage One right through to G.C.S.E. level and Sixth Form.

As well as the core subjects of Mathematics, English (Literature & Language), Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), the College also offers Modern Western Languages (French, Spanish, German), Eastern Languages (Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati, Tamil), I.C.T., History, Geography, C.D.T., Textiles and Electronics, Business Studies, Religious Education, Art and Design, Drama, Music, P.E. and Photography.

We also realise that your child’s education should not merely consist of academic studies alone, but we also concentrate on his/her personal development into the kind of men and women we can all be proud of and lead the way into a more challenging future.
