WELCOME TO HALLOW SCHOOL

Hallow Church of England (Voluntary Aided) Primary School (4 -11 years), is situated in the centre of Hallow village and is at the heart of the community. The present buildings range from Victorian to modern and are set in spacious and attractive grounds. These surroundings help to provide our children with a stimulating atmosphere in which to learn.

The staff of the school are dedicated and committed to helping each child achieve their best in all areas of school life. We believe in aiming for high standards and always try to make learning exciting, challenging and whenever possible fun! Children are actively and creatively involved in the learning process and are encouraged to be independent and confident. Although we implement all aspects of the National Curriculum we also believe that it should be enhanced by regular educational visits, varied sporting activities and community activities e.g. we join with the church and village each year for May Day celebrations. We also believe that music is a very important part of the curriculum and the children take part in regular school concerts and productions.

We are always pleased to welcome parents into school and regard the school's relationship with parents as very important. Opportunities are provided to keep you informed about how we are working with your child and the work of the school in general. Should you wish to visit the school, please telephone the secretary during the morning to make an appointment.

A child's school years are extremely important. We will do our very best to make your child's time at Hallow School as productive and enjoyable as possible.

Christian values form the foundation of our ethos, creating a caring atmosphere where all are valued. We provide a stimulating environment with a challenging curriculum to maximize individual potential. We believe that children's involvement with local and international communities engender appreciation and understanding of the wider world.

These will be achieved by:

bullet

promoting the Christian Values of the Church of England through daily interactions and teaching thus encouraging personal growth in faith

bullet

offering a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum which meets the needs of each individual

bullet

devising flexible and responsive learning styles to suit the needs of each child according to their gifts and abilities

bullet

giving every child the confidence to develop as tolerant, honest individuals who show respect for others

bullet

developing a close partnership with the whole community, particularly parents and local employers

bullet

enhancing children's knowledge and understanding of the world through our international links
