Welcome To The Harden Primary School Website ...

"May I extend to you a warm welcome to Harden Primary School , and hope your child will be very happy and feel secure.

To ensure that your child receives the best education we can offer, we believe that close co-operation between home and school is vital. We endeavour to meet the individual needs of all children in our care, and discussions with parents/carers help us to understand and meet these needs." Mr Dave Watton - Chair Of Governors

...to provide an education which is forward looking, with targets, improving academic progress and to support all round development of the whole child.

We operate...

...in a pleasant environment where parents are welcome to visit the school, at anytime with an appointment.

We encourage...

...the school's pupils to become independent learners and we strive to provide the facilities necessary to make this happen

Our School

Harden Primary School was officially opened in September 1994 following the successful amalgamation of the former separate Infant and Junior schools, and takes children from the age of 3 years (part time) to 11 years. The number of children on role varies from year to year, but generally averages around 300.

History Of Harden
The School building structure dates from 1938 with the extensions made in the 1960's. A new production kitchen/dining hall was built in 1999 with further construction planned - the school is looking to grow further.

Our Playgrounds
The school has several playground areas and have all been subject to on going improvements providing grassed areas, trees, shrubs and garden beds with safety boundary markings. Our community wing also offers a safe play area.

Safety & Security
After recent requests from parents and governors the LEA have decide to install security locking systems in the nursery, infant and junior departments. They have also made improvements to the perimeter of the site, including the nursery play area, which will further increase the level of security and safety in the school.

The entrance for service and staff vehicles only is via Masefield Road. All other traffic is redirected to the Goldsmith Road entrance. The new security measures mean that all vehicle access gates are locked and no unauthorised vehicles are allowed on site. School security is further managed by Pro-Guard Security.
