Welcome!
Most schools have a Parent Teacher Association and we are no exception. Our PTA is known as hsa, the Harnham Schools Association and is a joint PTA for the Infant and Junior schools.
The sole purpose of the hsa is to raise money for the school.
The committee (which includes both Headteachers) meet twice a term. The schools provide a wish list of the things they require. The hsa raises money to make these wishes come true.
The hsa have a Mini Lottery for £1 per month called the 200 Club. Every month 3 lucky winners are drawn to share the prize money. The rest of the money is divided between the two schools.
Harnham Infant School is a happy and caring place where everyone is valued and encouraged to do their best.

Harnham Infant School is situated on the southern side of Salisbury and was built in 1965. The main building houses four classrooms and a hall. There is also a newer 4 classroom building; three classes are for the infants, the other for the juniors. There are also 2 mobiles. There is a large hard playing area at the front of the school and a smaller one at the rear which can be used for the younger children. There are extensive grounds behind the school. There is an adventure playground, train, and mini-maze. A library extension is situated at the rear of the hall.
Puddleducks, a self funding playgroup is situated on the site. The Harnham Junior School is also situated on site to which most of our children transfer at the age of 7.
Harnham Infant School is a Community School providing education for boys and girls from the September in which they are 4 until the year in which they are 7 years old.
All applicants in or out of catchment must either complete a form (available from the school) or apply online at www.wiltshire.gov.uk.
There are deadlines printed on these forms which have to be adhered to when applying for a place at our school.
There are no guaranteed places unless
* the applicant has a statement of special educational needs.
* the applicant is within the care of Wiltshire County Council and have, or are expected to have a placement within your designated area.
Prospective parents are invited to visit the school. Please contact the Administrative Officer to arrange a visit.
It is helpful if we know about children due to join our school to help with accurate forecasts of numbers. Please give your child’s name and birth date to the Administrative Officer as soon as possible.
Children remain at this school until the end of the school year after their seventh birthday. Children then transfer to the Junior School - situated on the same site – an application form will be issued during Year 2. |
