I am sure you will enjoy your visit to our website.

Hertford Infant & Nursery School is a small school that values standards and achievement.

We are extremely proud of all that goes on here.

As our website demonstrates, the children at Hertford Infant & Nursery School are supported in their learning by dedicated staff, governors and parents.

At Hertford Infant and Nursery School we value all of our children as individuals, and aim to develop their interests, strengths and skills to the very best of their ability.  We know our children so well as we are a small school, and every child is very special to us.  Many visitors to our school have been impressed by the calm and purposeful atmosphere and have likened Hertford to a village style school - surrounded by a number of magnificent trees.  We develop the whole child - academic success is our priority but we see education as being far more than this, and place great importance on the arts and developing social skills to encourage our children to be the valuable citizens of the future.  We have a new and lively creative curriculum, which is based on topics which are truly meaningful and motivating to our children, and have made learning even more fun.
Our ECO work is a valuable part of this, and having achieved our Silver Award we are working towards the top Green Award.

When Ofsted last inspected our school  they recognised Hertford as a rapidly improving school - we have done much since their visit and encourage you to come along and see for yourself just how good our school is!

Take a look around:

I encourage you to browse around our website,

you will find details of school events, visitors and activities that serve to enliven the curriculum, alongside information about our after school clubs and extra curricular activities that your children can participate in.

Best Wishes

Mrs Catherine Thompson

(Head Teacher)

There are two distinct parts to any Infant and Nursery School.

These are called KEYSTAGES.

The Nursery and Reception are known as the FOUNDATION STAGE (FS) and Years 1 and 2 are known as KEYSTAGE 1 (KS1).

When the children go up to the Juniors they will become KEYSTAGE 2 (KS2).

Each Keystage has a carefully planned curriculum, designed to meet the needs and abilities of that particular age group.

To learn more about the sort of things your child will be learning during their time at our school click on the class icons below.
