To be a school to which we are all proud to belong, each of us having high expectations of ourselves and each other and working together in an environment of mutual respect to achieve our intellectual, social, spiritual and emotional potential.
The wearing of uniform is strongly encouraged and it is hoped that parents will continue to support this policy.
The uniform comprises of royal blue tops (jumpers, cardigans and sweatshirts), pale blue shirts or polo shirts and grey skirts/trousers/shorts. In the summer the girls may choose to wear blue and white dresses.
Shoes or sandals should be in a plain dark colour.
For P.E the children will require a light-blue T-shirt, navy blue shorts or the girls may wear blue leotards instead and black plimsolls.
All items of clothing must be marked clearly with the owner's name, which may need checking at intervals in case of fading
SPORTS
The pupils of High Ongar Primary School are very lucky to take part in competitions across a wide range of sports. We are members of the Epping and Ongar Primary Schools Sports Association who organise several sports leagues and competitions. Teams are entered for the football and netball leagues. The school also competes in tournaments for many other sports including cross-country running, athletics, rounders and rugby.
All children taking part in these events enjoy them immensely. We try to let all children who show enthusiasm and commitment have a chance of representing the school. Despite often competing against much larger schools, we have had many successes in the past year. However, the thing that always stands out about our children when they represent the school is their excellent sportsmanship and behaviour, whatever the result.
If your child is selected to represent the school, they will receive a permission letter from the member of staff organising the match. Parents/carers must sign and return this slip so that their child can attend. Sometimes we need to ask for help in transport and running the events from parents.
A big thank you to all parents who provide this help and come along to support the teams.
