Hilderthorpe Junior School is situated on a large open site on the southern edge of Bridlington.
The school provides 374 (339 on roll January 2004 - Y3, Y5 and Y6 admission limit 90; Y4 admission limit 99) places for children aged 7 -11.
The school, which opened in 1953, has two large halls, an impressive stage, 14 large classrooms, a 23 station computer suite, good cloakroom facilities and support rooms, all on a ground floor site.
Two large playgrounds and extensive playing fields, including a wildlife area, surround the school.
The junior school shares caretaking staff, kitchens, heating system and grounds with the adjoining infant school, that has places for 270 children, aged 5 - 7 plus 78 nursery places.
