Holland Moor School is in Skelmersdale, just off the M58 (junction 5), which connects the M6 with Liverpool. Motorway distance from Liverpool: 17 miles, from Preston 21 miles, from Birmingham 97 miles.

The school is surrounded by large playing fields. The main building allows for security of class bases, yet affords the space to have special areas for Art and Craft, Design and Technology, Science, Music, Drama, an extensive Exhibition Area and a large Library and many Resource Areas. There is a good sized hall which is used for Dining, Assembly, P.E., Games, Dance, Drama and various club activities.

Alongside the main school is a Nursery Building which offers part-time education to children of three years or more. It is a beautiful, purpose built building offering the very best of facilities.

The school is organised into classes according to the age of the children. Generally the work of the school is undertaken in these classes, but frequently they may be broken down into smaller teaching groups. Occasionally children are drawn out to receive special tuition.

The Headteacher teaches throughout the school and monitors the work of each class and teacher.

Teachers use a mixture of teaching styles and utilise whole class, group and individual teaching methods. Children are grouped by ability in most subjects to ensure each child’s potential is fully maximised.
