UNIFORM

Our school uniform consists of the following items

(Price list and order form below)

 Winter

 Girls and boys

 Black shoes

White polo shirts (with school crest)

Burgundy sweatshirts (with school crest)

Grey trousers or grey skirts

 Summer

 Girls and boys

As above but boys may wear grey shorts and the girls may wear white and red check dresses.

P.E. Kit

Our P.E. kit consists of round necked T-shirt (with school crest), black shorts, black plimsols and trainers. These items should not be substituted with any alternatives. In addition, the children will also need navy blue tracksuit bottoms, so that the P.E. lessons can continue longer into the autumn term.

We also insist that the children come prepared for the weather, as we feel that it is important that the children get to have some time out at break time, irrespective of the weather. Please ensure your child has a suitable coat/waterproof.

HOME-SCHOOL AGREEMENT

All the children need a positive and supportive relationship between home and school to enhance their attitude, behaviour and motivation. In order to achieve this, parents need to be informed and involved in discussion about curriculum and assessment.
Parents are encouraged to take an active part in their children's education. The children take a book home every night and we hope that all parents will read regularly with their children, as this makes a measurable difference to their progress. As children develop fluency with reading, they may no longer wish to read as regularly to an adult at home, but they will be encouraged to take their books home and continue to read at home.
Parents are offered appointments with their child's teacher every term. Written reports are issued on each child every year. Any parents who are concerned about their child's progress or welfare can make an appointment to discuss matters with the class teacher or Headteacher at any time.
Teachers are willing to advise parents on how to help their children at home, thus ensuring that parents and teachers work together for the benefit of the children. An appointment to discuss ways to help can be made with the class teacher or Headteacher at a mutually convenient time.
We encourage parents to come into school to provide extra help in the classroom. We always encourage parents to use their skills to the full for the benefit of our school community. There is an active Friends of Holly Trees School group, of which all parents are automatically members. The 'Friends' arrange social functions and fund raising activities for the benefit of the school.
