On behalf of the staff and governors of Howley Grange Primary School may I take this opportunity to welcome you into our school family and look forward to a long, happy and productive association with you and your children.

The health, happiness and well-being of your child is at the forefront of everything that we do at Howley Grange Primary School.  I believe that a child’s successful educational experience can only be achieved through a strong partnership between home and school.  This partnership must be based around open and effective communication.  During future years I do hope that on any occasion when you feel that you would like to discuss any aspect of your child’s education with me, you will either pop in to school or just pick up the telephone.

The Aims Of The School

" Learning through pleasure and understanding "

We believe that pupils learn and achieve through enjoyment and experience so that they are able to reach their full potential in all areas of their lives. They are entitled to a primary education which offers basic literacy and numeracy skills within the framework of a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum.

We want to equip the children with:-

  • a spirit of enquiry which fosters interest and enjoyment in the world around them

  • confidence and flexibility to copy with change

  • a developing sense of responsibility and pride in themselves and the community in which they live

  • a belief that they can build a better world in the future.

The School And Its Setting

Howley Grange Primary School is set in the south east of the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley, nestling between the green belt of Birmingham and the Clent Hills.

The school lies on the former site of a farm, which was originally one of the granges for Halesowen Abbey. The original farm pond still exists at the front of the school building, providing a useful educational resource for the children.

The beautiful and extensive grounds still contains the original field boundaries and many lovely trees.

The school is a two form entry, co-educational, 5-11 primary school.
