Welcome
Hunslet Moor Primary School has a proud tradition having served many generations of South Leeds families since it opened in 1909 on the site of the present Joseph Priestly College. We now occupy a bright, modern one storey building on the site of the old Cockburn Grammar School. The present building was opened in November 1989, initially for the five to nine years old age group.
Our School

This is realised through our school aims:

- For children to develop a pride in their work and in all that they do. For children to behave in a way that promotes everyone's enjoyment in school.
- For create an environment where children feel safe from bullying, racism and discrimination, and a place where they are assured of strong support from staff should they ever feel threatened.
- To create a place of study that encourages a healthy lifestyle, good behaviour and high expectations and achievements.
To respect, value an celebrate the diversity of cultures represented in school.
at Hunslet Moor we aim to provide a happy secure environment in which children thrive and develop intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically, thus making a positive contribution to their community.
Priorities For This Year Healthy Schools. We are working towards the National Standard for Healthy Schools and are hoping to undergo external moderation in the Summer term which will gain us National Healthy School status. To meet the criteria for Healthy Schools, we have to meet specific criteria in four health areas: PSHE, Healthy Eating, Physical Activity and Emotional Health. These tie in with aims of the Healthy Schools Programme: -
- To support children and young people in developing healthy behaviours.
- To help to raise pupil achievement.
- To help to reduce health inequalities.
- To help promote social inclusion.
