John Kitto Community College
Honicknowle Lane, PL5 3NE, UK Plymouth
+44 (0)1752 705131

We are a Community College in the widest sense catering for all ages and we expect our students and their families to take every opportunity that comes their way.

Students at John Kitto make academic progress from age 11 to 16, that is in the top 10% in England (Fischer Family Trust data, December 2006). This is not by accident; it is due to a co-ordinated, consistent drive to raise academic standards over the last four years. We are rightly proud of our students who achieve 12 A*'s and A's at GCSE and go on to 5 A's at A level, but we are equally proud of the students who achieve C's, D's and E's at GCSE having joined the College at low levels in Year 7.

On 1 September 2004 John Kitto Community College received Specialist School status and became a Specialist Business and Enterprise College. Our sincere thanks to our original business sponsors who helped us raise the necessary sponsorship and also to the many businesses that are currently working with us.

The College has a range of excellent facilities including:

  • Two Sports Halls with Dance Studio and climbing wall
  • Outdoor heated swimming pool
  • Nine designated ICT suites plus ICT facilities in department areas.
  • Purpose built Learning Resource Centre including Library with ICT suite and multi-media facilities
  • Specialist accommodation including 10 Science laboratories, 10 Design Technology areas, Art Studios, Drama Studio, Music Centre, Motor Vehicle Workshop and a Careers Centre. Community and Adult Education Centre and Youth Centre.

John Kitto Community College runs several clubs and activities outside of normal College hours. All clubs will finish at 4.00pm unless stated otherwise.

Some clubs and activities may be available to parents. Please enquire.
