As a voluntary controlled school we are fortunate to have the Church’s support in many areas. They provide us with representatives on our Governing Body and help us to develop our Religious Education Curriculum and Acts of Worship.

We believe our school provides a caring and secure environment where children, staff, parents and governors work happily together to create the opportunity for a quality education for the children of this community.

The school is very well resourced and spacious, yet retains the warmth and friendliness of a small school. The original building was improved and extended recently to accommodate the needs of a modern curriculum and further modernisation has been carried out more recently as part of an ongoing programme of improvement. There are four classes covering the age range from Foundation Stage through to Year 6. If there are exceptionally large class groups we may split them up for literacy and numeracy to ensure children achieve the highest possible standards.

Early Years:

Children bring a wealth of learning experiences when they begin school. As a school we provide a curriculum which nourishes and fulfils those experiences. The National Curriculum does not formally start until children have completed their reception year.

We believe that many learning experiences can be taught through structured play activities when they first start school. This makes all learning as meaningful and motivating as possible. We encourage children to be active learners and frequently involve them in problem-solving situations. Working a great deal from observation and first hand practical experience enables children to be actively involved in the learning process.

We offer a wide variety of extra curricular activities to all children across the school either at lunchtime or after school. We firmly believe they enhance and extend the learning opportunities within school.

Children can participate in: Chess, Drama, Computers, French and football
