Good Evening, welcome to the Kentisbury School web site. Kentisbury Primary School is a tiny rural school, situated in the rolling hills of the North Devon countryside, just outside Exmoor National Park. As of 1st January 2007 Kentisbury officially became part of the West Exmoor Federation together with Lynton and Parracombe
The present school was constructed in 1929 as a replacement for Kentisbury National School dating from 1876. It has been extended and modified to provide a welcoming educational environment for children of the new millennium. Our most recent improvements have provided a purpose built computer suite.
The school caters for children aged from four to eleven years of age with the thirty or so pupils arranged in two classes, each with a full time teacher.
Additional part time teachers and learning support assistants can provide an extended curriculum and extra support to those pupils that may require it.
If you have recently moved to the area and need to enroll your child, please see further information on the Parents page.
The school has recently been awarded an Arts Council Artsmark Award in recognition of the contribution made to art in the curriculum and The Healthy Schools Award in recognition of the work done to promote the social and physical wellbeing of the children and staff.
During the past year, staff and pupils have been involved in a Comenius project of international cultural understanding involving Kentisbury School and schools in France, Latvia, Spain and Sweden. The Comenius project has its own web site which you can reach through this link. |
