Your son's first experience of schooling is vitally important and at Kingscote you will find a warm, friendly and secure environment in which your son will thrive.
Above all we believe that by ensuring that your son is truly happy here, we will enable him to achieve his full potential.
As experts in the care and education of young boys, our aim is to inspire your son with a love of learning and a belief in his own abilities, to stretch him beyond what at first he thinks he can do and to give him the confidence to not be afraid to make mistakes.

The primary aim of the Kingscote education is to provide your son with a thorough grounding in reading, writing, arithemtic and communication skills as all his fututre learning depends on these essential foundations.
From Nursery, your son will learn these foundations through structured play sesions. From Reception onwards he will follow a broad and balanced curriculum and will explore new subjects in imaginative ways including drama, project work, educational software as well as the best traditional teaching methods.
He will also enjoy and benefit from a wide variety of educational outings, planned under careful supervsion to complement his learning at school.
Our airy classrooms provide vibrant, exciting spaces in which your son can learn. Our fun, experienced and well qualified Primary specialists, will go to great lengths to ensure that your son's individual needs are catered for and that in our small class sizes, he will flourish. |

At Kingscote, your son will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy regular and varied sporting activities throughout the year.
In the Autumn and Spring Terms football is taught by qualified FA coaches. In the Summer Term the boys are taught to swim in the adjoining Thorpe House swimming pool and a competitive inter-house sports afternoon is held in June.
Your son will be encouraged to build further self confidence and self interest through a range of curricular activities including instrumental groups and regular drama productions.
Our Music teacher introduces the boys to the basics of singing and percussion and all Year 2 boys learn to play the recorder, performing in an assembly in the Summer Term. In the Autumn Term, your son will participate in the Christmas Nativity play and will take part in a class assembly every Spring Term and the school concert in the Summer Term.
At Kingscote, we believe that it is vital that boys especially are given plenty of time to play and to develop their imaginations. Our supervised and fully equipped natural playground and sports field provide ample space for them to have fun and expend their natural energies.

Each day, morning assembly is held for the whole school, involving a Christian based story, hymn and prayer. Morning assemblies are also used to celebrate and reward individual boy's successes whether that is in academic progress or kindness to others.
Mornings are spent learning the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic with time included for outdoor play, weather permitting. At noon, the boys enjoy a hot, nutritious lunch cooked on the premises where the teaching staff look after boys and help their table manners.
After lunch play, the boys become involved in a variety of activities such as project work, PE, football, cookery and art.
Boys are placed in one of Lancaster, Tudor, Windsor and York Houses. The house system introduces boys to a competitive environment - encouraging hard work, good behaviour and caring attitudes to others. |

As well as encouraging your son's academic success, we never forget what it means to be a child. We will share his delight in discovering new things and his excitement when he masters something new because above all we want to nurture his enthusiasm.
When your son enters Kingscote, we take the trust that you place in us very seriously and we welcome your full involvement with your son's progress, either informally at the end of the school day, or more formally at a parents' evening.
Kingscote enjoys a thriving Parents' Association and different events are put on during the year if you wish to be involved.
We would like to extend a warm invitation to you to come and visit our happy and lively school so that you can meet the Headmistress, teachers and boys and experience at first-hand the Kingscote difference. |
