ABOUT US

Lamington is one of 124 primary schools throughout South Lanarkshire Council.

Lamington Primary is an inter-denominational and co-educational school catering for children between the ages of 5 and 12 with a current roll of 27. The total capacity of the school is 47. Parents should note that the working capacity of the school may vary dependent upon the number of pupils at each stage and the way in which classes are organised.

Stages covered Primary 1 – Primary 7.

Our priorities are to ensure that all children can enjoy a high standard of care and welfare and learn in an atmosphere that is happy and stimulating. We strive to ensure that the ethos and school environment is one where children are encouraged to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.

AIM

The aim of Lamington Primary is:

To provide a happy, caring atmosphere where each individual can achieve his/her full potential for life, through involvement in stimulating, enriching learning experiences. We aim for all our children to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors to society.

CURRICULUM

All pupils follow what is known as the 5-14 programme, which focuses on the following areas:

  • Language (including a Modern Language - French)
  • Mathematics including Problem Solving Environmental studies (Social Subjects, Science and Technology)
  • Expressive arts (Art , Music, PE and Drama) Religious and Moral Education with Personal and
  • Social Development and Health Education
