School Aims
The Aims of the School
At Linthwaite Clough we believe that at the heart of our school is the individual child, and that the emotional and educational needs of that child are of paramount importance.
The school meets the requirements of the National Curriculum 2000, but above and beyond that its philosophy and teaching are aimed at promoting education in its widest sense, so that children understand about and enjoy learning, and are helped to develop as individuals in a caring, secure and stimulating environment.
Through teaching and their own experiences, the children are encouraged to develop educational, learning and social skills, and also, helped to develop self-confidence, and arrive at a sense of responsibility and an understanding of values, other people and the world around them.
The school will continue to strive for the highest educational standards and believes that it is important to help children develop their own abilities as much as they possibly can. The aim, in short, is to provide education that not only covers the curriculum, but also helps prepare the children for life.
