Lostock Hall Community High School & Arts College is an 11-16 comprehensive school which caters for the full ability range. We are very proud of our successes both inside and outside the classroom.

The facilities we offer our pupils are excellent but more importantly the quality of teaching and learning is outstanding. Our latest Ofsted report in 2004 commented on the quality of relationships between staff and pupils. The report also made reference to the disciplined but caring ethos.

Our aim is to challenge our pupils academically, socially and morally and to ensure that they are given an education in a very secure environment.

The Sports Centre is a Community orientated facility that aims to provide Sport, Recreation and Leisure Opportunities that can be enjoyed by all. The Centre comprises a four badminton court sized sports hall, gymnasium, fitness suite, outdoor floodlit training areas, 3 football pitches and one rugby pitch.

Our designation as a Specialist Visual Arts College and the Arts Councils’ award of Artsmark Silver recognise the high quality arts provision across the school. The arts generate energy, excitement and enthusiasm that permeate the ethos of our school and can be seen in the quality of our exhibitions, displays and performances.

We are proud of the achievements of our pupils and the intense personal nature of arts experiences that enable them to explore complex issues, make sense of the world and express their thoughts, feelings and actions. We work very closely with artists, designers and the creative industries to enrich the understanding and experiences of our pupils. Our Specialist Schools Plan puts the development of ICT and the new technologies within the arts central to our curriculum development.
