We aim at Lydden to provide opportunities for every child to succeed by encouraging the children to become involved in their own learning and to follow their interests within the curriculum and outside it.

Children need to be happy to produce their best work, to become self-confident and to learn to live as members of a responsible community. The ethos of a village school encourages this development and allows me, as Head Teacher, very close contact with all the pupils.

We strongly believe that education is a partnership between the home and the school, with the best interests of the child being paramount.

Please do not send your child to school before 8.45am. No responsibility can be accepted for children who arrive before this time.

The children are taught in three classes. The classes are generally quite small, the average being 21 pupils. The classes are currently arranged as follows: -

Class 2 - Years 2, 3 & 4

Class 3 - Years R, 1
