Welcome to Manor Park Primary School

This is the website of Manor Park Primary School in Coventry. Here you will be able to find useful and up-to-date information about school and events which you can access 24 hours a day 365 days a year and get a flavour of what we do in school.

The school is divided into 4 phases representing the ages of the children in the school community. We have a 78 place nursery linked to 3 reception classes which, together make up our Early Years unit.

The children in Key Stage One make up our lower phase. In Key Stage Two we have 2 phases; the middle phase is made up of children in years 3 and 4, while the oldest children in the school are part of the upper phase.

School Aims

Vision statement

Manor Park is committed to creating a safe and caring environment in which each person is valued, where children can succeed in all aspects of school life and where excellence, achievement and enjoyment are expected, praised and celebrated.

The Staff and Governors have established aims which support our vision and are central to the teaching and learning that takes place at Manor Park Primary School . These aims are intended to:

- create a safe environment in which children can succeed in all aspects of school life and where excellence and achievement are expected, praised and publicised.

- develop caring relationships between all members of the school community which are based upon respect and consideration.

- provide children with the necessary skills to enable them to become articulate, literate and numerate and to afford them their full entitlement within and beyond the National Curriculum.

- involve each person as an important and valued member of the school community, whilst recognising their individuality.

- offer each person the opportunity to develop their interests and broaden their experiences.

- involve the school actively in the local community.

- assist the children in their development into versatile capable and caring people.

- acknowledge the contribution of parents, families and carers in the education and development of children and to promote a partnership approach towards this.

We have also adopted and endorse the City Council's general curriculum aims.

These state that the school curriculum should:

a) be appropriate to the needs, abilities and aptitude of individual pupils.

b) promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental, physical and social development of the children.

c) prepare the pupils for the responsibilities and experiences of adult life.

d) seek to develop the knowledge, concepts, skills and attitudes of pupils in ways which are relevant to the needs of individual pupils and the community in which they live.

e) reflect and celebrate the multi-cultural multi-ethnic nature of society.

f) promote equality of opportunity.

g) presume that many children will have special educational needs from time to time.
