The purpose of the Parent Staff Association (PSA) is to encourage active co-operation between the school and home, to support the school by raising funds and to host social events.
In addition, the PSA also helps when it can (along with other parents/carers) with events which the school organises - such as the Christmas concerts.
The PSA is an autonomous body, run on a voluntary basis by a committee, and quite separate from the control structure of the school and the Local Authority. Of course, the PSA aims to co-operate with and support the school whenever possible.
All parents and guardians of children attending the school and members of staff of the school are automatically members of the PSA, and as such are eligible for election to become committee members. All parents are welcome to attend any of our committee meetings. We also welcome comments and feedback on how you want your PSA to operate, ideas for fundraising and recommendations for how funds should be spent.
You can email your comments at any time to psa@midcalderprimary.co.uk, or via the school addressed to the PSA.
