CORE INFO

Our building and facilities

Milwards Primary School was opened in 1973. The Nursery was opened in September 2000 and the school name changed to Milwards Primary School and Nursery.

The school grounds are very attractive and are used for environmental work throughout the school. A small copse, established trees, hedges, a wild area and grass slopes provide a range of habitats to study. The school is accessible for anyone with disabilities

The school’s curriculum and how we help your child to reach his or her potential

The school provides a secure and happy environment in which each individual can feel valued and able to learn. We encourage children to have high expectations to enable them to be the best they can be. The principles of the ‘Every Child Matters’ document has been adopted.

The school provides a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum. Children are encouraged to develop positive attitudes to learning. The curriculum is planned carefully to ensure that it both meets the requirements of the National Curriculum and engages children’s interests and natural curiosity whenever possible. The school helps each child form good relationships with staff and other children, developing a sense of personal responsibility and independence to prepare for their later lives and to play a full part in the communities in which they live.

Caring for each other

The school is a community in which behaviour is based upon mutual respect and consideration for others. High standards of behaviour and conduct are expected.

We believe that all members of the school have the following BASIC RIGHTS.

  • The right to feel happy and safe
  • The right to be heard
  • The right to be shown respect
  • The right to learn and teach

FRIENDS

Welcome to the Friends of Milwards School

We are small group of parents who organise fundraising events to raise money to help provide the school with extra facilities and equipment for our children.

Recent Events

Sunday 24th June saw our Summer Fair take place, unfortunately due to the weather it was held indoors, but this did not deter the crowds. Despite the rain we had a successful day and raised £1168 for the School. Some photos of the day are shown below.

Dates To Look Out For

Tuesday 17th July will be our Bouncy Castle afternoon, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the children last year.

Friday 7th December is the date for our Christmas Fair.
